SELF-HYPNOSIS
This is taught as a tool for the individual to manage stress, anxiety, obesity, phobias and pain.
THEORY AND PRACTICE.
The hypnotic trance is a natural occurrence, it is the state between sleeping and waking. During this state we are able to access inner information in the brain.
Conscious Mind. Logic language. Left Brain.
Emotions. Symbols. Creativity. Right Brain.
Using the correct words during hypnosis, the right brain is reached thus allowing activity in both halves.
Hypnotherapy still suffers at times from the old stage hypnotist shows. These shows are done for entertainment value only.
Hypnotherapy has been used successfully for generations to promote healing, and is one of the most scientifically endorsed therapies.
FACTS AND MYTHS
Hypnotherapy is completely safe. Modern hypnotherapy does not depend upon deep trance. A qualified hypnotherapist will not take advantage of their position of trust. The client is never forced to do anything which they find unacceptable. The client is never left “in limbo”. Hypnotherapy is not suitable for people under the influence of alcohol or drugs. (Unless prescribed by a physician).
